Undue Burdens

Hello— My name is Alison Gash. I am a professor of political science at University of Oregon. Our political world is crazy right now. You don’t need me to tell you that. But this craziness is especially difficult for communities who are the constant targets of— and are unduly burdened by— inequality, injustice, and violence. Change requires listening, learning, reflection, and resilience. Undueburdens.org is a space for folks to talk about, learn about, and listen to the ways in which people experience and survive injustice— and to support a discourse for change.

Here’s a little bit of information about me.

And, more importantly, here’s some information about our Good Books projects. These projects reflect the work, talent, and commitment of my amazing students. We have several book projects organized around the themes of community, empowerment, and hope. We are distributing these books in order to raise funds for critical social justice organizations across the country. Please support my students’ work and the organizations they are promoting.
